Movie Review – “Do You Believe?”

Mary and I watched, “Do You Believe?” produced by Pure Flex, 10 West Studios and Believe Entertainment.  Others told us it was real good.  It was better than, “Real good.”  It is one of the best Jesus centered movies we have seen.  If you liked, “God’s Not Dead,” I have high confidence you will appreciate, “Do You Believe?”  From a writer’s perspective, I enjoyed the complex subplots that came together in a dramatic, intense, and calamitous climax.  The cast of seasoned actors brought believability to the story characters and their respective struggles.  Those introduced to film did a credible job, too.  I wish I had seen this excellent work when it first appeared two weeks ago.  I guess better late than never.  I highly recommend this movie to anyone and everyone.

Is It Too Late?

When Almighty God sends repeated warnings to His people, we should ask ourselves when would we heed them? Will we ever heed them? God's judgment is coming to America, but first it must come to those of us who claim to be Christians. In fact, His judgment has already begun. Why? Christians in America have had ample opportunity to change our wicked ways. However, we choose to go on indulging in behaviors God has revealed that He hates (Proverbs 6:16-19). But what makes matters worse, Christians have chosen to go along with our surrounding culture rather than confront it. We have sat down, shut up, and blended in - no longer salt and light. I am guilty, too and I pray that God still has grace left to forgive me and strengthen me for the fight ahead.

Let's take the issue of abortion, for example. It seems it has become taboo to even bring it up. Regardless of whether five men wearing black robes declared it okay, it is still wrong in the eyes of God. All too often I hear abortion is the law of the land and a woman's right, what can be done? We should start and end with the truth. 1. Just because it is the, "Law," does not make it right. 2. Rights come from God - not the government. 3. Rights - like the right to life - are universal. They apply to all people regardless of race, heritage, background, station, or gender. Once a benefit applies to a particular class of people - women - it is a privilege, not a right. 4. God grants life and He expects His people to protect it. Since God hates hands that shed innocent blood (Proverbs 6:17); I suspect He would still call an abortion, "Murder" (Exodus 20:13 NASB).

Unfortunately, 98% of all abortions in America are performed for the convenience of the mother. The life of the baby is brutally butchered. That innocent little child has no way to defend itself. What makes this worse, women who claim to be Christians have 69% of these abortions.

Judgment begins with the House of God. It is long overdue for Christians - men and women - to repent of letting this sin live in the camp. But they won't. And for 57 million souls murdered in their mother's womb, it is too late.

Recently here in Colorado, a woman who was seven months pregnant and wanted her child had her baby hacked out of her womb by another woman who ambushed the defenseless mother-to-be. The evil killer stabbed the pregnant woman and murdered the unborn baby girl. Now, the self-righteous officers of the court are trying to figure out if the assailant should be charged with murder of the baby. Common sense says she should be but unfortunately the culture murdered common sense decades ago. (Woman's Baby Brutally Taken)

I know no one will heed the warnings. Lawlessness breeds more lawlessness. God has given Christians in America over to their own devices. Calamity is coming. It is already here and it will get worse. But if God's people will humble themselves and pray, seek God's face, and turn from their wicked ways - even if the government says the behavior is okay - then there is a slim chance that God may hear our cry of repentance, He may yet forgive us of our grievous sins, and might heal our land. I fear it is too late. I pray I'm wrong.

A Challenge to ABC

A Challenge to ABC

For years, my wife has asked me to watch with her your programs titled, “The Bachelor,” and, “The Bachelorette.”  For once, I would like you to find a main candidate that has strong moral convictions as opposed to animals in heat.  I realize it doesn’t sound, “Sexy,” but I believe it would be intriguing.  Why, because it would present a moral challenge.  Will the individual throw their principles and values aside for a casual and meaningless opportunity in the fantasy suit?  Or, will that man or woman choose a mate by following moral purity as well as their heart?  Unfortunately, it may be a greater miracle than the parting of the Red Sea to find such a candidate.

Texas Submits to Islam

Texas Submits to Islam

On Friday, March 6, 2015, 179 years after the fall of the Alamo, FOX NEWS reported that a Dallas, Texas suburb submitted to Islam and allowed the establishment of a Sharia law court to handle domestic cases.  Why would Texas submit?  Islam claims to be superior to the laws of the State of Texas.  I suppose it is as far as men are concerned.  Does the State of Texas stand for equal justice under the law?  Whatever happened to the concept of the separation of church and state?

The legal concept – Separation of Church and State – originated in a letter written by Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptist Association in 1802.  Jefferson’s intent was to state that the Constitution prohibits the Federal Government from establishing a State of National Religion that all American citizens must follow.  The concept never intended to prohibit the expression of religious principles from the market place of ideas. Today, the secular left spouts the unchallengeable dogma that religious concepts must be kept in the privacy of one's home or within the four walls of one's place of worship.

Any doctrine, be it religious, scientific, medical, legal, political, philosophical, etc., that cannot be challenged is not worth following.  If a doctrine will allow a challenge and it sustains that challenge through open and honest debate, it may be worth further consideration and adoption.  If it fails the challenge, it would be insane to follow it.  Islam will not allow any challenge.  Islam requires submission.

Allowing a separate but unequal Islamic judicial system to exist in any form in any State should be challenged.  But I suppose Texas is too afraid to go against political correctness (another unchallengeable doctrine of the left).

My New Novel's Back Cover

The President’s Piano – Back Cover:

Have you ever asked what would the world be like if Islam succeeded in subjugating America?  If you think it could never happen, think again.  It is happening and most Americans today choose to ignore the danger.  This story reveals one possible logical outcome resulting from the fundamental transformation of America.

Katie Elder is a reluctant resident under the Caliphate of Ameristan.  She owns a piano of peculiar historical significance.  She hates what has happened to America and the enslavement of its Christian and Jewish population.  Even more, she hates how she willingly traded God’s gift of liberty for the false security of the tyrannical government and Sharia Law.  Now, she has neither liberty nor security.  Fear and terror rule her life and she trembles constantly.  Katie’s husband, Kurt, convinces her that they need to flee the city to avoid the coming holocaust.  Bloodthirsty Jihadist killers hunt for Katie, Kurt, and their son, Connor.  She begs her husband, Kurt, to remain in their safe hideout when an opportunity to regain liberty arises.  But Kurt chooses to join the patriotic rebellion to restore the land to a Constitutional Republic.  If not for the special attributes of her piano, she would lose everything.

What lengths will God go to as the Good Shepherd to find a lost sheep?  Would He orchestrate events covering over 100 years to restore one broken soul to a vibrant relationship with Him?
